I sincerely apologize for opening that avenue for someone to insert the
"foot" of religion into my representative mouth on this list. I can see how
my post did invite it, though I'm not interested in the discussion of it.

I was interested in hearing other people's experiences on how somethings
have seemed to work out in their careers (for the better or worse) related
to clarinet and if they decided there was some psychological issue working
in them.

Like I had mentioned, I was not sure at all (inside) about the change from
teaching public school to teaching at the university level and becoming a
student again (along with all of its financial worries). Yet it worked out
great (audition and funds for the transition). But when I knew/know that I
want the DC gigs, everything seems to get in the way (peeling a little bit
of skin off my chapped lip and it becoming a week-long battle with a painful
"wound", etc).

Any similar experiences from anyone? Just good and bad luck? Psychological
issues?

Robert
