Possible, but, again, unlikely. Of course, they did TRY to reach the Nazi
soldiers. I have recordings of the programs they recorded specifically for
broadcast to German soldiers, with a German-speaking hostess and Miller
struggling to speak bad phonetic German.

The pilot was out of his mind to attempt the crossing in a plane with no
de-icing equipment in the conditions of that day. Virtually all OTHER
flights were grounded. And as much as Miller HATED flying, he made a
serious error in judgement to go, partly in response to a dare.
