I find that interesting. On a local documentary over here, one of his old
bandmembers stated that it was strongly suspected that a Nazi agent
sabataged his plane. They (the Nazis) were having problems keeping young
Germans from secretly listening to his music. It was reaching more German
ears then other Allied broadcasts.
