Hey Natalie, I know exactly what your going through. I used to have the same
problem. I think mabye instead of just trying to cover your teeth you should
try to re-arrange your ombachure. try dropping your jaw a little and
tightening the corners of your mouth. The reason your lip hurts so much is
probably because your biting too hard. I changed my ombachure in the past
year by dropping my jaw and it give me a much better tone because my lip
isnt keeping the mouthpiece from resinating. You might find it very
different but it might work so try it out. I'm going to to go back into
hiding before all the experts start getting on my back for giving advice.
