Natalie,
I think the E-12 is about the same as the old "Evette"
line. I had a wonderful, wonderful clarinet from that
line that I miss to this day. (Stolen 25 years ago.)
Have a good time playing and getting to know your new
horn. Since you plan to be involved with music for a
long time, it will be like your oldest (or second
oldest) child.
