Obstructive sleep apnea runs in my family. I've been using a CPAP for
several years. It keeps me asleep and breathing freely breathing at night,
lets my wife sleep because I'm not snoring, and has the additional advantage
of curing my sinuses' unpleasant habit of being always closed on one side or
the other. The CPAP keeps both sides open, and the effect lasts through most
of the day after I wake up. It even keeps things open when I get a cold.

I would avoid surgery if possible. My first cousin (a non-musician) had it,
and he has had trouble with anything that involves air pressure, such as
blowing up a balloon. My doctors said you should never get the surgery
without trying the CPAP first.

Best regards.
