Thanks for the correct title of the Nelhybel piece. I played it when I at
Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, back in the late
60's/early 70's and I also thought it was great. It is not easy, but it is a
cool piece. The Adagio for Strings transcription is not hard note-wise, but
incredibly difficult from an endurance standpoint, pitchwise, and musically.
These pieces that I mentioned very well may be too difficult for a high
school clarinet choir, especially if it is group that is just getting off the
ground. The Lady of Spain that someone else mentioned is within the ability
range of many high school clarinet choirs as is the Voxman Clarinet Choir
Repertoire book.
