I've had two pair of glasses (one for near sightedness and one for
farsightedness to correct my astigmatism) since I was 26 years old. Having
come back to the clarinet a few years ago, at considerably past 26, I tried
the half-glasses and found that they didn't work for me. I finally went to
my optician and told him what I needed glasses for, and we worked out the
appropriate distance and he made a pair of what I call my "music glasses"
for me. They work well.
