The exercise I myself practice is to start from C (above the staff)
and descend chromatically with the following routine: Play the note
normally, drop the jaw and tongue, then raise only the tongue to
bring the note into tune. This ensures the bottom teeth aren't biting
to raise the pitch, and it is easy to verify since any movement other
than in the tongue would be external.
