You say that Moenning never made a plastic-lined barrel because he "FELT
that it made the tone too bright" (emphasis mine). One presumes, then,
that he never actually TRIED it. Not a very scientific way to go about
it. I will agree that Mr. Moenning FELT that material made a difference,
but it is quite a leap from there, regardless of his reputation, to the
conclusion that it actually DOES.
