Since I'm a beginner, forgive my lack of proper terms.

that said, I have a problem playing a D# in the lower register with the side
key (my beginners book labels it R7). The note sounds very muffled, or
stuffy. Playing the same note using the small key between the C and D (book
calls it L7) is fine. Playing the same fingering in the upper register to
produce an A# is fine with either the R7 or the L7 key. Any clues why this
might be happening?
