A repairman oiled my clarinet once for me a couple
years ago; it was the only time since I bought it (6
years ago) that i had the bore oiled, and it has
lasted me.

The buffet manufacturers recommend that you don't ever
oil the bore....but that tends to ignite controversy
quickly.
