Neil,
I currently have a student who has braces, and when she first got them,
she couldn't play for a week. That was a year ago, and it of course
affected her embochure, but she still has progressed greatly. When she
gets them adjusted, it's hard for her to play a lot in her lesson, so I
take it easy on her at those times. I don't think it's completely
detrimental, but it can have some slight setbacks. I just thank heaven
that my teeth grew in straight!=20
