I guess "down in the trenches" - elementary instrumental music, where I
work - we get a different perspective. I have learned to check the inside of
a sax _bell_ BEFORE I check any of the other things you mentioned. I once
found a toy car in there (a red Mustang, if I remember it correctly).
Another time I found a student's lost mouthpiece cap wedged into the curve
of the bell so tightly I thought I might have to send it to a shop to get it
out.
