David,
I once had a student in woodwind methods who couldn't get a sound from
his alto sax one class. I did the standard checking for leaks, reed
position, embouchure, etc. I was stumped UNTIL I took the neck of the horn
and found a stick swab in the body of the sax!!! I always think I've seen
all problems but there's always a new one around the corner.
