In my previous mail to this list I was referring to a "horn" player. He
played French horn. But Benjamin Maas wrote

where the "horn" is meant to be a bass clarinet. The term "horn" has been
used on this list also to indicate an soprano clarinet.

Can someone explain to me the confusion I am subjected to?
