From: Donna Higgins <Donna@-----.com> Subj: [kl] Question about turns Date: Sun, 25 Nov 2001 14:08:46 -0500
I'm working on the second movement of the Weber Concerto No. 1 for my
next lesson, and I have some questions about turns. My edition (Carl
Fischer) includes a lot of turns and other decorations, but most of them
are omitted in the recording I have (Andrew Marriner with the Academy of
St. Martin in the Fields).
Are there any rules about when to include a turn or leave it out? Is it
performer's discretion or should one always play them as written?
