I wonder if this particular practice method is taught by Opperman, since
(if I recall correctly) you are one of his students, and Chris Jones, who
visted NMSU earlier this year, also described such a technique utilizing
an egg timer. >>

And here I thought I was so smart to think of using an egg timer! But indeed
the two minute on - two minute off is a general practice technique of
Opperman's used to be able to practice for long periods of time without
blowing the embouchure. I've found that it also works very well in the
method I described earlier for building up a double lip embouchure from an
established single lip embouchure.
