Hi Annie,
I`ve recently gone onto a profile 88 M/P. The others are all correct, but in
layman`s terms, it is a 'thinner' M/P so you don`t have to open your mouth
as wide when inserting it, (please excuse the phraseology :<) ). It sits
more comfortably inside the mouth - I have found anyway - and that is what
it is supposed to do. I have a custom made M/P as I no longer play on
Vandoren. And I believe it is only Vandoren who make the 88`s commercially.
If you want this 88, then it is of course possible for your technician to do
it, always providing that he knows how to not take off too much from the
upper beak area. Make sure that it`s polished afterwards. And I must have a
copy made too before my designer decides to make off somewhere.

Best,

Tony.
