Exactly. As I replied to Bear privately, Dr. Andy J. Patterson and Dr. T.H.
Dean (both long since retired, and Dr. Dean has passed away) discussed,
demonstrated and, in Andy's case, wrote in various styles, including modal
usages. I don't recall what our basic theory text was (Piston?), but both
profs were well versed in modern theory.
