Since the second register goes sharp with a shorter barrel, you might want t=
o try one with a narrower bore.

I have had a lot of luck with a sharp reverse taper, starting smaller, and s=
lightly more tapered than the "Moennig" bore (I'm measuring here from a Buff=
et "Moennig" barrel).

On my clarinets, and several others, I have been able to drop the throat ton=
es, and keep the clarion A, B, and C in line.

I can't say for sure if that would work on an S1, since I haven't tried it w=
ith one.=20

Throat tones - used in America to identify G, G#, A, Bb right below the brea=
k. I don't know if this is used in the U.K.
