I have to agree. I think that utilizing the twelve tone idea as a starting
off point and then departing from it as a means to get started when the
ideas are running dry isn't a bad idea. I have done that! But to simply
put together a piece of music mathematically with no attention paid to how
pleasing it is to one's ear...I must say that it makes no sense to me
whatsoever. Aesthetics over logic for me any day of the week. :) At least
in this area.
