I hope this performance will be as good as ours was.

You notice, Dan, that I regard this issue as relatively trivial,
otherwise I would have invoked my directorship of the performance in
order to assert my own conviction -- which happened, in case you have
forgotten, in this case to coincide with yours. I chose to run the
experiment because there are other more important issues that determine
the worth of a performance.

My 'Sophistry', as you call it, is not sophistry, but my deepest
connection with whatever I have to offer as a musician. And it is
something that I have no intention of relinquishing, whether it agrees
with your judgement or no. I am always prepared to throw it open to
question, but in the end, the whole of me gets to decide.
