Hi Everyone,
This year my high school is lucky to have 2 seniors who are also all
state clarinetists (I'm one of them, it's my second year the other guy's
first year), as well as two seniors who play with New York Youth Symphony
and ISO. After our battle-royale for the first chair in band (which I won
:), out band teacher decided he wanted to show us off. He gave us a tape of
him and 7 other guys playing the Weber Pollaca from the 2nd concerto...at
the same time, with the bandstration of the accompaniment, it was amazing,
it really sounded like one instrument. So he decided to do this with us,
except with the Rondo from the Weber Quintet (there is a bandstration of the
string accompaniment). The problems of having 4 people play the same solo
part at the same time are obvious, I was wondering if any of you have done
this before, or can offer any insight as to rehearsal technique, etc...
thank you!

~Alexander
