Yes, me too.

I remember that when I was young, I played second clarinet to John
Denman in 'Una Cosa Rara' by Soler, famous for being quoted in the
dinner music in Don Giovanni. (Not many people have played that.) We
had a great time and got on very well. His sound was very free and
expressive, and he had nothing going on about what instrument or setup
was in fashion. He went his own way.

Later, he was a bit 'protective' about the orchestral parts to Spohr 3.
