Insofar as whether or not the Gran Partitta is a great work, I have no
idea if it is or is not. I like it. I think it is a wonderful piece.
It pleases me no end. I would like to think it would please me if it
were by Fred Schnurtz rather than Mozart but I do have a predilection
for Mozart. I also notice that some other people like it too, but my
opinion is neither formed by someone else's views nor altered simply on
the basis of a disagreement of quality.

Did you notice that every response indicating a positive reaction
includes reference to its effect on me. But that does not mean anything
in the broader scheme. In effect, I am unqualified to determine
universal greatness, only what I think is good for me. After all, how
can you ask such a question of a man who thinks that Yes We Have No
Bananas is better than Beethoven's 9th?
