Isabelle asked re her "American Sound" project:

<<<My intention is to assemble a family tree for each of the prominent
teachers. It would be interesting to see if, as you have mentioned, the
second generation after Bonade, have their own significant influence.Does
anybody have suggestions on the structure of the tree and how far down I
should go?>>>

I believe that all three of Robert Marcellus, D. Stanley Hasty and Leon
Russianoff were students of and/or otherwise influenced by Bonade. If you
were to do a check of the clarinet population of American symphony
orchestras, you'd find a significant plurality who had taken from one or
more of these three.

. . . so does anyone know what Stanley Hasty's "D" stands for?
