Well, we (the Dutch) already did that -- more than 25 -- years ago!
In almost all the symphony orchestras in the Netherlands they play on
Wurlitzer Ref. Boehms for years! At the major conservatorys the students
play (after a few years of saving money, because the Wurlitzers are quite
expensive: one set is aprox. $10.000) them and begin to play on French
clarinets combined with "german mouthpieces" (to get used to...).
For instance: the Concertgebouw Orchestra asks explicitely for players on
German clarinets when thay have a vacancy, i.e. Ref Boehm (or Oehler).

I just sold my set ref. boehm Herbert Wurlitzers. I recently bought Ref
Boehm Yamaha´s (newest model, type 856), and well: pretty, pretty good!!!
