Hello everyone!

It's not too often that I find myself posting on Klarinet unless I'm searching for advice. Thank you all for your help in those times.

This time, I could not help but go ahead and post a little note about David Hattner's CD "The Clarinetist Composer". After hearing many of my friends and people on the list talking about this recording, I went ahead to http://www.northbranchrecords.com and ordered one myself. In perfect time for my birthday (today nov. 7), I received it yesterday.

Indeed, this recording is one of those few out there that are really worth the money you pay for it! Mr. Hattner's musicianship and technique are a great model for aspiring clarinetists. His poise within his music making and his control of the clarinet could be felt in every piece, each of which are not the most "standard" of clarinet pieces to be recorded. That he recorded these less familiar pieces is a great contribution to the clarinet community. My particularly favorite tracks were the six movements of the "Bartok Dances" by Edward Yadzinski. Overall, though, you all want to get a copy of this recording and add it to your library!

I hope Mr. Hattner receives this message. If so, thank you for such a great recording!

Happy clarinetting!
