The low-C bass clarinet I posted about yesterday (the long-B intonation issue)
is an Amati. The repair person who overhauled it for me was very impressed with
its quality, and said I wouldn't have found a better-sounding instrument if I'd
spent two or three times as much for a Buffet or Selmer. He knows his stuff,
and I trust his opinion.

I'm not sure when my Amati was manufactured. The serial number is 11331, if
that means anything to anyone.
