One of my favorite quartet pieces is a Piazzolla piece, it is the Histoire
du Tango, it is published for 4 saxophones or 4 clarinets. Very
passionate music, it requires long-haul chops :) It has 4 movements:
Bordel 1900, Cafe 1930, Concert d'Aujourd'hui, and Night Club 1960. The
only bad thing is the cost, Luyben lists it for $60 - their most expensive
quartet in the catalog. hope that helps :)
