Re: Pineapple Poll - its a great clarinet piece and an intersting history of being a production that came about after the copywrites on Gilbert/Sullivan expired... so its a production based on several of the most famous G/S pieces. It was the first "real" Eb Sop solo I had ever played and a sweet mellow and plantive one at that in Poll's Dance. the rest of the piece is just plain ol whirling dervish G/S runs and arpegios...great fun. Ive had some great band Eb Sop solos and passages in Lord of the Rings/DeMeij and in the band transcriptions of Candide Suite and Candide Overture. Ive got some solos in the DeMeij this weekend at our concert (see www.dcdd.org for info if youre in dc)
