I had this problem as well, until I learnt that biting just makes it
harder to get a sound. I wish I had an Eb to help me give you
directions on how to hit that A, but you might try actually putting
less mouthpiece in your mouth for those notes rather than more.
Although more mouthpiece allows you to hit higher partials, the same
thing happens in a slightly different way if you use less.
