In reading your original post, Dan, I can understand why the cost to do a
one-off of a wooden bell is so prohibitive. It's a custom machining job on a
temperamental material. It occurred to me that an ebonite bell might be
better pricewise for a production run - but the mold tooling for the first
one would kill you.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the functions of the radial holes
in the bell on your basset horn.
