Curious if anyone knows of a version of this piece where the cl parts
are in Eb, Bb, and Bb (Bass) (like you'd expect). The original
universal edition (the only ones I have access to) are in C, C, and C
(w/ lots of bass clef). Schoenberg wrote the piece during a brief
period when he thought transposing instruments were soon to be
obsolete. The parts are also unsatisfactory in that they have huge
measure numbers every bar (obscuring the music) and numerous errors
recently corrected in the New Schoenberg Edition (issued w/o parts
though).

A great piece and worth either copying out or transposing on sight,
but frustrating nonetheless when you're just trying to get a group
together to read through it.

Best, Myke Cuthbert
