Dear Klarineters,
After having been away from clarinet for over 30 years, I have
recently begun playing again, with private lessons and in a community band!!!
It all makes me feel renewed and happy and I have learned so much from your
on line conversations. Thank you!
I don't ever recall learning the altissimo register way back when, but
that is what I have taken to be one of my current challenges. I want those
notes to have the sweetness of the chalumeau register, instead of the
shrillness I give them now. I have moved up to a 3 1/2 reed and am
experimenting with different ways of breathing (I'm not sure what fast air
is, though) !!
Robert Moody mentioned a book called the Essentials of Technical
Dexterity for Clarinet by Bill Stubbins that I cannot find anywhere. Would
Robert or anyone have any suggestions concerning where I might locate this
book? Thank you all again!!
Jeanne
