I think the overblown G fingering for the high D sounds more in the
quirky character of the piece. Besides, it is MUCH easier to play the
alternate D instead at a high speed. Why not make your life easier when
you can? Having a "bag of tricks" doesn't make you any less of a player,
IMO.=20
