One has to be sensible about what assumptions we make regarding
contributions we make and read, and reply to. Some seem to think it a
terrible crime to wander off topic occasionally. We are all sensible
musician`s are we not? We are all human, and when at work, we all like to
end the day with a little 'off topic' chat. Well I feel that this list
mirrors typical life, in-so-far as 'topic' is what the list <is> i.e.
clarinet music, but running along side this, with almost as much equality
are our experiences in life outside of our profession which make us what we
are - musicians. I believe there has to be room for both kinds of
contributions.
With respect, I refer everyone back to Walter Grabner`s contribution of 15th
Oct. "There has to be a sense of fun in everything I do". I believe that
this quote could almost begin a new religion, and new way of living with our
fellow human beings, if we had the <drive> to initiate it. It IS what we
lack, and have lacked for a long time. Let us begin to live with that again
starting now, in spite of all our world troubles. It IS what will 'carry' us
thru` all the pain we are suffering at present, not least on this list.

Tony Wakefield.
