Andrew,

You may very well be right!

I have continued to look each year for something better. The best I have
found (for me) is Zonda - as a substitute. The only problem is that the
size 4 is just a hair too soft and the size 4.5 is a hair too hard - and
the entire box of 4.5s I worked on couldn't be reduced to the strength I
wanted. Other than that, I haven't found anything that works as well as
Vandoren V12 4s. But I hope something comes along.........
