Did you ever play the Schoenberg Suite op 29 for 3 clarinets, string
trio and piano? IMO one of the most beautiful and demanding Eb parts,
of just the nature you're talking about.
There's also a very quiet thing by Webern for soprano, guitar and Eb
clarinet that a colleague described as being "beautiful, but like
walking on broken glass to play," and I found I agreed with that...
