Annie,

When I left home to go to ClarinetFest, I took two clarinet cases as
carry-on. One had three clarinets in it and the other had one. The triple
case was too large for the conveyor, so I had to open it and it was
thoroughly searched and I was questioned in detail about what they were for
and had to put them together to prove that they wouldn't explode, or
whatever. Then I sent the single case through and started through the
beeper ring. Now I have a metal right ankle and metal in my jaws and it set
those beepers singing. The single clarinet went through without a hitch,
but they wanted to open it anyway. No questions were asked about the
beeping caused by my metal inner parts. Figure that one out, if you can.
Good luck.

Nancy
