For all those in the LA area, the Los Angeles Pierce Symphonic Winds
("LAPSW") will be playing their first concert of the year tomorrow, 10/14,
2:30 PM at the Performing Arts Building, Pierce College, Woodland Hills.
The first half of the concert will be played by the Timm Quartet of the
Berlin Philharmonic who will do a Mendelsohn Quartet and follow up with
Steve Piazza, director of the LAPSW playing the Mozart Clarinet Quintet with
them. LAPSW will play the second half of the show with Flight (by Claude
Smith), Elsa's Procession (Wagner), Don Quixote (Henze), Passacaglia in C
Minor (Bach, arr. Schaeffer), America the Beautiful (arr. Dragon). It
should be a great show. Tickets are $6, $3 for seniors. The concert is
sponsored by the Luxembourg Consulate.
