Hi Stephen,

Just looked at your response, as I've been down with the flu for the last
several days. Glad to see that you're looking around. The pieces I've
suggested are technically the same or easier than the Martino Set, but tend
to have more traditionally-constructed tunes.

Okay, something without "crazy" techniques (but you should learn these). If
you know someone who's a good reader, I'd also suggest Meyer Kupferman's
_The Grand Guignols of Love_ (1969). It's bleep-bloop music, just like
Martino (same New York uptown school) with similar challenges, but with a
really funny quasi-Beatnik narration which is very gently naughty. Your
teacher should be able to find out whether this is available - my copy is a
xerox of a manuscript - or maybe someone else on the list has played this
piece?

Cheers,

Virginia
