Jay,

I have purchased 3 Etudes, one for my oboe, and the
other 2 for clarinets.

The Etude works great on my oboe...easy to put on and
helps the tension in my arm ALOT!

The Etude does NOT fit on my Buffet Prestige. The
holes are less than a millimeter too far apart to take
the screws from the Etude straight in. The newer
Buffet adjustable thumbrests are a little different
that the old ones, and I am told you cannot replace
the old adjustable thumbrests with a new one, which
wold make sense if the holes are a fraction different.

Try putting it on in the store you buy it from (takes
about 3 minutes to attach) or get it from a place that
will take the thumb rest back if it is not usable on
that model clarinet.

I wholeheartedly enjoy playing oboe now that it
doesn't hurt me as much! If the holes on your clarinet
are the fight distance apart to use it, the Etude is
great, and surely a lot cheaper than the big $ to get
ther other one, and then have to drill holes. I will
have to get the more expensive one for my Buffet
clarinets, and drill holes :-(
