Of course you are right about the list price and discounts, Roger. But I
believe that the case that Kelly wanted sells for about $500 through the
catalogues.

My point is still valid, Weissman was offering a price lower than what the
US retailers can sell it for after shipping , duties, currency exchange and
a very limited mark up. This is undercutting them and that is bad business
practice as a manufacturer.

People often ask me for a discount on my products and I only sell at list. I
have a published list price on my web site and I stick to it. I value all of
the stores and businesses that pomote my products and I would rather make
less money on a sale by NOT going direct than to upset the very good
relationship I have with my retailers. I learned this lesson from David Hite
many years ago, when I bought a mouthpiece from him direct and it was more
than a published catalogue price. I called him about it and he essentially
gave me a small lesson in business economics. Smart man, David Hite, and a
good business model.
