Kelly,

There are three problems here. I don't know Weissman, but I know that their
firm has a reputation in the business for a great product, but not the best
business practice

Problem#1. They should never have advertised a price at the Clarfest that
was lower than what their US Retailers (ie; WW&BW, MUNCY, INTNL MUSIC) sell
them for. this is just bad business. Most likely unintentional, but it
demostrates a lack of awareness of the importance of his retailers here. He
brought this problem on himself and I think you should feel under no
obligation to follow through with the contract if he can't come up with a
suitable compromise that will bring the price close to what he quoted at the
Fest.

Problem#2. Paying in foreign currency can be very expensive and setting up a
credit card account is not that expensive in the grand scheme of things.
Weissman should make this available if he really wants to do direct
business.

When I used to buy mouthpieces from Riffault in France I always paid in
French Francs. The simplest thing to do was to go to my nearest currency
exchange (the airport in my case) and buy FF. The exchange rate was
generally good and the fee was about $7 for about $400. I would then mail
the money REGISTERED MAIL with a return receipt. Never had any problems.

Problem#3. You may not be finished paying for the case once you send the
money. If it gets hung up in customs you may be responsible for paying
additional tariffs.

Bottom line. I would cancel the order and go through an authorized dealer.

Clark
