Thanks to the list, I doscovered the good effectos of hydrogen peroxide on
reeds. Clean, and sanitary, too!

I have often taken to soaking my mouthpiece in an upended shot glass of
vinegar -- it works great to take off the calcium deposits. Might vinegar
be a suitable disinfectant as well? I don't know what effect H2O2 would
have on the hard rubber.

If you don't rinse thoroughly, it might have some flavor to it -- of course,
if you like that sort of thing, there's always basalmic or another flavor
you'd like . . .
