I had an experience years ago with a flame war that erupted on a forum. The
only way to solve the problem was to ban those who engaged in flaming for a
period of time. The ban took place immediately when a member failed to
abide by the moderator's directive to cease and desist. A personal posting
obviously is not sufficient to deter those who are in the grips of flaming
emotions. Until you decide to be firmer about this problem I think you will
continue to lose members. You've already lost several valuable
contributors. It's really up to you.
