I do my reeds from the very beginning (tube cane) by myself.

If the reed is made over several weeks:

- The tubes get get correct length and be splitted to 3 or 4 reeds (put in
destillated water for five minutes and dried)
- the bottom is made plane (afterwards put in destilled water and then dried)
- the "back" is taken away (afterwards .....)
- The shape of the reed is made (afterwards...)

The reed is blown in THEN don´t have to plan the reed table very strong!!!
When do this a take stone garnet about 400 to get the reed in shape again.
If i only want to get the water out of the reed i take a japanese sharpening
stone about garnet 4000 and press the reed on it - the humidity is taken out of
the reed and the is not working so strong as wet reed would do.

I´m sorry that my english is not the best. If there ae any questions feel free
to ask!
