Reed Resurfacer

In recent months there has been a lot mentioned about Vandoren's
ligature- the Optimum.
In Vandoren's catalogue they also advertise another useful tool, the
Reed Resurfacer.
This is what they say:

Two different grades of abrasive on a perfectly flat surface make it
easy to make the reed table absolutely flat again for perfect mouthpiece
contact, in the event of warpage.

I myself use something like this by having a plate of glass with some
abrasive paper on it.
I merely hold the abrasive paper down on the glass and move the reed up
and down.

I use garnet 150 to get the wood I want off.
